Romans left their legacy in Bairrada in the form of clay jars, or amphorae. Filipa Pato wanted to recreate this old tradition allowing micro-oxygination through the clay of the amphorae to help soften the tannins of the Baga. The wine is a brilliant cherry red color with an almost purely fruit driven nose, reminiscent of small red stonefruit with a hint of black pepper. On the palate it is delicate and elegant, very juicy, and attractive with a lingering and teasing finish.
