Hand harvested fruit with a brief maceration to maintain freshness and keep the tannins low. Natural fermentation, unfined and very lightly filtered with minimal SO2 added just prior to bottling. Labeled as a Vin de France rather than Fronsac because the maturation time is shorter than the six month minimum for the appellation. The name is a nod to a character from the 1997 French sci-fi/action film, The Fifth Element. Leeloo is the fifth element of the domaine: when the vintage allows it.
